Morador da favela do Bico Sujo, Adamastor já arquitetara minuciosamente seu próximo assalto. Não tardaria a pôr o plano em prática, afinal, a grana estava muito curta, os companheiros pressionando o pagamento da muamba e tinha também a nega que estava para parir. É isso, não podia passar daquele final de semana. A mira daquela vez seria a farmácia adquirida recentemente por novos administradores, e essa coisa ele sabia bem como era: os donos investem para valer no novo negócio para chamar a clientela. É o novo visual, muita mercadoria, preços mais em conta nos artigos de conveniência, descontos nos remédios; e ele já havia dado tempo para o dinheiro se avolumar. Completavam-se, naquela semana, seis meses de funcionamento com a nova direção. Já dava para faturar uma boa grana. Adamastor passou quatro dias fazendo ponto por ali, observando o movimento, quem sai para almoçar, quantos ficam, hora do fechamento, rua mais deserta e montou finalmente o seu esquema. Seria na noite de quinta-feira. Dia melhor não havia: véspera de final de semana, noite mais deserta, dinheiro ainda no caixa e o melhor horário: às 22h, até lá o comércio da redondeza já estaria fechado, facilitando o trabalho. O plano era perfeito. Para não ter de dividir a grana com muita gente, levaria só o Zé Careta para ficar na porta checando o movimento enquanto ele fazia a abordagem. Dois “38” e o Fiat roubado na noite anterior para ajudar na fuga.
Tudo pronto. Noite de quinta. O Fiat encosta a meio quarteirão. Adamastor desce com as mãos no bolso. Zé Careta aguarda o momento certo para se aproximar. Às 22h15, o balconista se encaminha pra abaixar as portas. Adamastor faz o sinal e Zé Careta desce do carro e se aproxima. Ambos sacam o revólver, anunciam o assalto e abaixam a porta. Dentro da farmácia, os três funcionários são presos no banheiro por Zé Careta que pede silêncio, “senão todo o mundo vai passar pro outro lado”. Enquanto isso, Adamastor vai embolsando o dinheiro. O assalto não durou dez minutos. Adamastor e Zé Careta dirigem-se rapidamente para o carro, pois, ao atravessarem a saída da farmácia, escutam o alarme. Precisam desaparecer o mais rápido possível. No quarteirão de baixo se encontra a guarita da polícia, quando, de repente, “cadê o carro?” Roubaram o Fiat. Não pode ser, e agora? Nem se quisessem, ali não havia outro para roubar. Eles começam a correr na rua deserta, quando, de repente, um carro de polícia vai se aproximando, e, armados, os policiais os abordam, revistando seus bolsos, e dão com o roubo. Conferem os nomes e se certificam de que os ladrões eram foragidos. Encurralados, resolvem se entregar, entrando no camburão. No caminho para a delegacia, avistam o Fiat sendo abandonado pelo inimigo da favela ao perceber o pneu furado.
– Benfeito! Exclama para si, Adamastor.
Aí então teve a brilhante ideia. Não iam ficar nessa sozinhos. Uma vez em cana, o desgraçado também teria que estar atrás das grades. Berra para o policial da frente:
– Ô moço! Esse carro aí é do dono da farmácia e esse cara roubou ele. É o colega lá da favela.
O policial parou, e antes que o outro tivesse tempo para correr foi algemado.
Já na cadeia, fariam o acerto de contas.
