Família classe alta. Início da noite de sexta-feira. Hora do jantar. Mesa arrumada. Todos reunidos: pai, mãe, filho de 18 e filha de 15. O pai assenta-se à cabeceira da mesa e vê o filho com o visual diferente. No nariz, destaca-se o “piercing” prateado; na boca, o parafuso no lábio, e na orelha, seis furos: três em cada uma, exibindo um verdadeiro “sistema planetário”. O pai olha de soslaio e, em silêncio, se serve do jantar.
Ao final da sobremesa, levanta-se, dirige o olhar a todos da mesa e avisa: “Segunda-feira quero todos reunidos para o almoço.” Deseja à família uma boa noite e se recolhe em seu quarto.
O final de semana transcorre normalmente. Os filhos saem à noite para os compromissos com os colegas, pai e mãe vão ao cinema; no domingo, à casa de parentes que, assustados com o visual do rapaz, questionam os pais da permissão. A mãe, entre sorrisos sem graça, deixa que o pai se manifeste: “Não liguem, não. Coisas da juventude”, e à noite todos se encontram para o sono dos justos.
Manhã de segunda-feira, o pai sai para o trabalho, a mãe molha as plantas do jardim de inverno, enquanto a filha se dirige a ela para o beijo de tchau, em direção à escola. O filho permanece dormindo, pois a Faculdade começa às 13h.
Hora do almoço. Mesa arrumada. Família reunida: pai, mãe, filho de 18 e filha de 15. O filho assenta-se no lugar de costume e vê o pai com o visual diferente. Na orelha direita, pende a enorme argola de prata, fazendo par com os curtos cabelos de prata do pai, contrastando com o terno azul de linho e a idade nada jovial do velho senhor. Abobalhado, mas silencioso, permanece o filho e se serve do almoço.
Ao final da sobremesa, levanta-se o pai e dirige o olhar ao filho: “Vou te levar à faculdade hoje”.
O filho, quase que desesperado, suplica: “Não, pai. Não precisa. De jeito nenhum que vou lhe dar esse trabalho. Deixar que desvie do seu caminho, nem pensar…”
_ Faço questão! _ Enfatiza o pai.
O filho ainda tentar fazer o pai mudar de ideia, quando é interrompido pelo pai:
_ Te espero no carro.
Mais que depressa, o filho corre para o banheiro e arranca de qualquer jeito os apetrechos das orelhas, na tentativa desesperada de que o pai faça o mesmo: arranque o brinco.
Pega a mochila e chega esperançoso ao carro, chamando a atenção do pai para a ausência dos seis “brincos”.
O pai se mantém calmo e impassível liga o carro para retirá-lo da garagem.
Durante o trajeto o filho evita encarar qualquer pessoa da rua, temendo encontrar algum conhecido.
Antes da entrada no Campus, o jovem diz: “Falô, pai. Pode parar por aqui. Já tá ótimo. Quebrou um galhão!” E ensaia deixar o carro.
Calmamente, o pai continua dirigindo.
_Vou parar no estacionamento. Faço questão de deixá-lo dentro da sala.
_ Quê isso, pai! Não precisa mesmo. Você vai se atrasar mais ainda”.
_ Não tem problema, estou com tempo hoje.
Descem os dois, e antes que o filho tome a frente, o pai segura-lhe o braço:
_ Espera aí, me conta como está indo nos estudos… _ E caminha ao seu lado.
O filho se recusa a olhar para os lados, mas não consegue evitar os olhares perplexos dos estudantes ao se depararem com a imagem grotesca do seu pai que, indiferente, continua o trajeto.
Já no corredor, o jovem despede-se afoito e entra como um raio no banheiro.
Calmamente, o pai retoma o caminho de volta.
Na manhã seguinte para o café, a família reunida: pai despido da bijuteria, mãe, filho de 18, de cara limpa como veio ao mundo, e filha de 15 dão início a um novo dia.
O recado havia sido dado!
