    Século vinte e um. Tecnologia avançadíssima, bastando apenas um toque de dedos para clicar algum botão e, de repente, abre-se, à nossa frente, um mundo mágico…
            Contrastando a isso, o básico do básico parece ficar esquecido, relegado a um canto de tanto ser básico, e, assim desaprendemos ou nem aprendemos a lidar com o banal, perdendo-se então o controle de todo controle…
            Caminho pela ladeira com o molho de chaves do apartamento que acabei de receber da imobiliária, a fim de alugá-lo, caso seja do nosso agrado: meu e do meu companheiro.
            Muito embora muitas avenidas já possuam controle de semáforo, para que o pedestre atravesse em “segurança”, além de faixas exclusivas para ônibus, alguns bairros parecem pertencer a outro país, tamanha é sua deficiência básica: falta iluminação nas ruas, redes de esgoto e água, asfalto… faltas essas que favorecem à “sobra” da violência que se espalha na escuridão dos becos, nos assaltos, estupros, assassinatos…
            São 10 horas da manhã de uma radiante quarta-feira de primavera e nós vamos seguindo ruas, virando esquinas até encontrarmos a entrada do prédio.
            Com o molho de chaves na mão, não foi muito difícil achar a pequena chave que abre a portaria. Subimos as escadas e lá está o número do apartamento: 202. Já, a chave da porta confunde-se com outras que se encontram no chaveiro. Porém, estamos com tempo, e, assim, vamos testando pacientemente a chave que abrirá a porta.
            De repente, a porta dos fundos do mesmo apartamento abre-se abruptamente e um homem com um calibre 38 na mão, avança em nossa direção, enquanto berra:
            _ Parados aí! Como se atrevem a abrir o meu apartamento?
           Ainda não sei descrever, ao certo, a sensação de pânico que nos invadiu. Mas já era capaz de sentir a bala do revólver estilhaçando nosso corpo e o sangue rolando escada abaixo.
           A voz para a explicação teve de ser arrancada à força de dentro da garganta, já que o susto a sufocara:
       _ Peraí, moço, somos gente boa! Recebemos a chave da imobiliária e viemos conhecer o apartamento para alugá-lo…
            _ Como é que é? Alugar o apartamento que aluguei há um mês?
            _ O senhor já mora aí?
            _ Claro! O que eu estaria fazendo lá dentro se não morasse aqui?
            _ Bem, nesse caso, entregaram-nos a chave do apartamento errado. O senhor sabe se tem outro apartamento aqui para alugar?
            _ Não tem. Tenho certeza.
            Bruscamente ele tomou o molho de chaves da nossa mão e buscou conferir se alguma chave abria a sua porta. Achou e a abriu.
            Não acreditou. Nem nós acreditamos.
            Ele, por saber da insegurança em que se encontrava, achando-se seguro dentro de casa, ao menos.
           Nós, por saber que poderíamos ter sido mortos ao nos confundir com um assaltante, quando apenas buscávamos por mais segurança.
           Estupefatos ao devolver o molho de chaves e dedicar à imobiliária alguns desaforos, fomos surpreendidos pela funcionária que nos afirmou que enganos como esse acontecem vez por outra.
           Esse tipo de erro é urbano, e desumano!
            “Bala perdida mata criança no Rio.”

            “Pedreiro fica preso por engano durante dois anos.”
            “Dentista negro confundido com traficante é assassinado pela polícia.”
