Escurece todos os dias na senzala.

A mulher negra exibe com temor

o ventre não livre e o horror

à luz de mais um dia se exala…

 

É o tempo que subtrai a liberdade

que inibe a arbitrariedade.

O escuro passa a ser tão importante:

sinônimo de proteção naquele instante.

 

Nascer para o mundo

é morrer para a família

é pertencer a “outro dono”

é ver a paz ser consumida.

 

E ela sofre ao imaginar que aquele filho

gerado com amor no ventre-abrigo

escuro como a pele, mas seguro

partirá, um dia, sem saber seu rumo.

 

E, embora negra e escrava, é mãe e sente

As mesmas dores da mãe branca-dona

que quer o filho forte, livre e presente

ciente de que a mãe nunca o abandona!
