Fernando Brant – Um coração aberto!

              “Casa Aberta” é o nome do livro do compositor e cronista Fernando Brant, falecido em 12/6/2015, Dia dos Namorados. Duas coincidências – para quem acredita nelas –, ou dois mistérios – para os que neles acreditam. O título “Casa Aberta” é uma coletânea de crônicas do Fernando, publicadas no Caderno Cultura do Jornal Estado de Minas. A capa do livro (Sebastião Nunes) é ilustrada com várias chaves e, na minha leitura, indica que, sendo a “casa” de Fernando, “aberta”, qualquer chave poderá abri-la.

            Conhecia Fernando Brant por meio das letras de suas canções que tanto me marcaram. Porém, nunca conversei com ele. Vi-o em 2010, na Casa dos Contos, entre amigos, recebendo o escritor português Cunha de Leiradella que visitava o Brasil, e, depois, em 2012, no “Bate-papo com o leitor” na Academia Mineira de letras, onde adquiri seu livro. Mas conhecia a alma dele pelas letras de músicas, crônicas e pelas respostas às minhas mensagens. Fato não muito comum com escritores e artistas que, às vezes, só respondem quando os elogiamos. Mas Fernando não se restringia a isso. Independentemente da mensagem, elogio, comentário sobre a crônica, ou outro assunto, ele nunca ignorou o leitor.  Guardo com carinho várias respostas gentis desse homem que tinha um coração aberto. Sem estrelismo, tinha com qualquer ser humano (e por que não dizer, com tudo que é vivo: plantas, animais…) um respeito profundo por tudo que exalava vida. Fernando fez de suas palavras sua vida. Coerente com o que pensava, o que falava, o que escrevia e o que vivia.
            Dentre as suas virtudes, talvez esta seja a maior: a simplicidade. Nivelava as pessoas. Um homem de coração aberto.
            No dia em que se comemora o amor, Fernando se despede deste mundo. Ele cantou o amor em todas as suas acepções: de casal, de família, de amigos, de avô, retratados no livro “Casa Aberta”, Edições Dubolsinho, 2011.
            Numa época em que a literatura enaltece a violência e o sexo, tornando-nos cada vez mais pobres literariamente, ter e ler “Casa Aberta” é guardar eternamente as palavras de quem era o que pensava, o que vivia.
            A crônica “Domingo dos Pais”, página 19, talvez resuma aquilo que Fernando Brant gostaria de dizer a todos quando partiu:
            “… e eu fico imaginando palavras que consolem os que estão desconsolados. O que vale mesmo é o abraço e o carinho que recebemos e que guardamos para todos os nossos dias. O que vale é andarmos juntos, descobrir os que nos são afins e aproveitar ao máximo a companhia, a amizade e o amor.
            Meu pai tinha uma predileção especial por uma canção nossa, “Vida”: ‘o amor bateu na porta/e eu de dentro respondi/minha casa é aberta/pode entrar, estou aqui/ o rio passava seus peixes/ no fundo de meu quintal/ meu pai me olhava sorrindo/ minha mãe e meus irmãos/ o amor bateu de novo/ e eu de novo respondi/ entra que a casa é sua/ eu só quero ser feliz/ a lua trazia no vento/ meus filhos e minha mulher/ amigos chegavam dizendo/ que a vida é isso aí.’
